Aside from the 100% Japanese classes themselves, I really enjoyed the cultural experiences (such as the tea ceremony). I ventured out a lot on my own, met many people, and have grown a lot because of it.

This program is a wonderful and comparatively cheap investment in a person’s future as they learn a new language, and meet new friends from far away places!

I enjoyed my experience here very much! If possible, I’d like to come back to KCP in the future, to continue my studies! My goal is to work in Japan, and pass JLPT 2, so KCP has been helpful to me as I work towards my goal!

I found the daily kanji quizzes to be helpful in learning kanji, since they forced me to actively study the kanji every day rather than just for a large test.

Don’t be discouraged. It is a bit fast moving, but there are chances to take tests over, and I advise you to choose your time to study well.

Pair work has been the most helpful for me as within these interactions I can see my Japanese that I just learned come to life as it enters another persons ear and triggers the desired response. To me that is truly speaking a language.

Don’t be scared to step out of your comfort zone! It’s going to be scary at first but you can do it!

Make sure you’re responsible with your schoolwork, but also make time for new experiences and fun things that your home country doesn’t have. Practice speaking every chance you get; be friendly and open-minded and willing to try new things, and I think that you’ll have a really wonderful time, even if your time is short!

The visit to Hosei Daigaku was an excellent opportunity to practice conversation skills as well as meet Japanese friends who are in a similar age group.

To new students I would say, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Even if you do not have enough or any vocabulary to get your question across.
